Trombone Shorty & Orleans Avenue have announced the third installment of their Treme Threauxdown series in New Orleans at the Saenger Theater on April 29th, 2017!
As Troy “Trombone Shorty” Andrews was growing up in New Orleans’ historic Treme neighborhood, he dreamed of one day hosting his own show at the legendary Saenger Theater. His dream turned into reality in 2015 when Andrews hosted the first annual Treme Threauxdown with help from a “who’s who” of special musical guests.
The third annual Treme Threauxdown will feature special guests Dumpstafunk, as well as a long list of soon-to-be-announced musical guests. The show takes place annually during the week of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Troy expanded on what Treme Threauxdown has come to mean to the band , "Coming from Treme, for me and my band to be able to take the Saenger stage each year in April is a real special thing. Every year we try to make the show bigger and better. We have it circled on the calendar and invite our favorite performers from around the world to play with us on our home stage. And that's how we look at it--a big homecoming, especially this year. This is the show that kicks off our homecoming at Festival time."
