The Marine Corps Reserve, Chevron and the Saenger Theatre will be collecting donations of new, unwrapped toys Friday, Dec. 11, prior to the Marine Corps Band New Orleans “Santa Meets Sousa” holiday concert at the Saenger Theatre, beginning at 7 p.m.
An event for all ages, the Marine Corps Band New Orleans’ performance is free and open to the public. Admission requires an event ticket, which will be available at the Saenger Theatre box office beginning at 10 a.m. on the day of the concert at 1111 Canal Street, New Orleans, LA 70112.
Donations will be distributed across greater the New Orleans area by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program during the holidays to bring a brighter holiday to less fortunate children in the community.
Toys must be new and in original packaging. Stuffed toys will only be accepted in original packaging.
“Chevron is proud to partner with The Marine Corps Reserve and the Saenger Theatre in celebrating the season while also supporting children in need in the community,” said Mike Illanne, vice president of Chevron’s Gulf of Mexico Business Unit. “We invite everyone to join us at the concert, but also join us in supporting Toys for Tots by bringing toy donations on the day of the event.”
Additional donations for Toys for Tots will be accepted until Dec. 25 throughout the greater New Orleans area. For a list of locations, visit http://new-orleans-la.toysfortots.org/local-coordinator-sites/lco-sites/donate-toys.aspx.
